Welcome to my maternity photography page.
The whole experience of being pregnant, giving birth, and then holding your newborn baby is one of the most profound times in a woman’s life. It is also said to be one of the most fleeting.
You often hear people say ” I wish I’d had some photographs taken when I was pregnant”, as it is an incredible time in your life that goes so quickly, and can never be replaced.
It is also a time when a woman is said to be her most beautiful.
As a mother and maternity photographer, I am dedicated to capturing this momentous stage in life with all its joy and beauty, knowing these images of your pregnancy will be enjoyed by you and your family for years to come.
As a mother of three with a Master of Arts in Photography, I have been specialising in maternity photography since 2000. I have exhibited my photographs in Europe and Australia and was the featured maternity photographer in Antonia Kidman’s television series “From Here to Maternity” and have had my work published in a range of publications including “My Nikon Life”. My maternity photoshoots take place in my Avalon studio, on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

Maternity Photography Session
Celebrate you, the miraculous life within you, and capture, in portraits, the essence of your beauty and emotions as you await the greatest gift you will ever receive.
Maternity Photography sessions are held in my Avalon studio, on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, creating intimate and beautiful pregnancy portraits that you will cherish forever. During the session, I will gently guide you and we will work together and create natural and graceful images that truly reflect you and your love for the life that is growing inside you.
How to book in your Maternity Photoshoot
You can enquire via email or give me a call to book a date. We can also have a chat on the phone or email beforehand so I can answer any questions you may have before booking. A $190 Creative Fee is due when booking your maternity photoshoot Sydney session. This fee is non-refundable but transferable to another date. I will email you a link so you can book online.
Pre-Shoot Consultation
After booking, I will email you with more detailed information about the maternity photoshoot, including tips on what to wear and how to prepare. Feel free to give me a call or email with any questions or ideas you may have. If you have any specific pregnancy images in mind, let me know, so I can make sure we capture these for you as well.
Maternity Photoshoot Day
We will sit down and have another chat about clothing and the types of images you would like. You can point out images from my gallery, and you are welcome to bring your own ideas as well. The shoot will be very relaxed and we will have a lot of fun together.
Editing, Viewing, and Ordering your Maternity Photos
After the shoot I will carefully edit your images, creating a black & white and colour version of each photo. The images will be uploaded to a private password-protected online gallery for you to view in the comfort of your own home approximately one week after the session. From there, you can choose your favourite images from the pregnancy photoshoot, and select the collection that suits you best. Your images will be ready approximately one week after you place your order.
Retouching Maternity Photos
The images that your order will then be individually retouched/photoshopped again in more detail. This can include things like the removal of stray hairs, stretch marks, spots on the face, etc. You can also request specific re-touching.

Maternity Photoshoot FAQs

The best time for a Pregnancy Photography Sydney Session is when you are around 32 to 35 weeks pregnant when your joyous glow perfectly complements the beautiful curve of your belly. Of course, if you have left it later than this it is still beautiful to do. I have photographed women at 40 weeks and they were so happy they captured their pregnancy just in time!

The pregnancy photo shoot takes approximately 1.5-2 hours. However, there is no time limit and this can be adjusted to suit your needs.

Feel free to bring several clothing options, such as a shirt or cardigan to frame your belly, a lovely bra or bikini top, and a sarong, jeans or skirt that hangs nicely under your belly. You can also bring any accessories such as jewellery or a scarf. If you would like some topless or nude photos, I recommend you don’t wear any constricting clothes prior to the session, so you avoid marking your skin. Of course! Your partner and/or older children or pets are more than welcome to come along and can be in as many or as few photos as they like. There is no extra cost to include more people in the shoot. You can find out more info from my blog “Couple’s Maternity Photoshoot”

Yes, I do have some maternity dresses and chiffon material you can use. Once you have booked I will also send you tips on what to wear and how to prepare for your maternity photoshoot.

No problem - I am happy to reschedule your maternity photography session, even at very short notice.

Yes, we do outdoor maternity shoots as well. If you would like to shoot on location, at the beach or park in Sydney, for example, please contact us for more information.

If you are having hair and/or makeup done organise this before arriving for the pregnancy photoshoot. You can always do touch-ups when you arrive if necessary.

Remember not to wear anything too tight that might mark your skin before the session. You could also get a manicure beforehand if that takes your fancy, as there are a lot of hands-on belly shots that look great.

I want you to feel beautiful and relaxed during the session, and professional retouching is included in all of your chosen images. Some women love to show off their stretch marks or tatoos, while others like them photoshopped out.

Yes, absolutely! This is often the case for many women coming to my studio and they all leave saying how much they enjoyed the session! I will gently guide you into poses that make you look beautiful! My goal is to make you feel comfortable, relaxed and look amazing.
Maternity Photography Prices and Packages
The Maternity Creative fee is $190 - this includes the photoshoot, editing of images, and preparation of your private online pregnancy gallery.
Maternity Photography Packages start from $650 with a collection of High Res Images in both Black and White and Colour versions, individually photoshopped, plus a beautiful mobile gallery app.
When Booking a Maternity Photography Sydney Session with me, you will also receive a $100 discount off the newborn session.
