17 Nov Vanessa & Matt’s Maritime Museum Wedding
Started this beautiful Sydney wedding day at Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour, were both Vanessa and Matt were getting ready for their Maritime Museum wedding. Vanessa were in the makeup chair and in the very capaple hands of the makeup Artist Gemma Nichols when i arrived. The videographers had also arrived. Had time to get lots of details shots and of course of Vanessa who looked just stunning in her wedding gown. Both Mum and Dad were struggling to hold back their tears looking at their little daughter all ready for here wedding day.
The Novotel has a great view over Darling Harbour and very convenient for a wedding at the Maritime Museum as I could just walk down and start shooting. The Ceremony was held on the balcony by a one of my favorite wedding celebrant Coral Kortlepel. Matt was looking brave and not to nervous, but when Vanessa and her dad came walking down the aisle it was tears of joy all around.
The ceremony was beautiful with the skyline of Sydney as the backdrop. After the wedding ceremony we organized group shot with all the guest on the big stairs, and some family photo on the wharf. We also shot a few photos of the newly wed at the Australian National Maritime Museum before heading of for the location shoot.
First stop Mrs Macquarie’s chair at the Botanical Gardens. We walked down to the water and shoot there. I noticed some heavy dark clouds approaching from the city and suggested it was time to get into the cars. On the way up the wind suddenly hit really hard, luckily the chofer were there and gave Vanessa a hand up the stairs. A second after we were safe in the car the heaven opened up – I have rarely seen such heavy rain. There were another bridal party also having photos down by the water – they were not as lucky. They were absolutely soaking wet getting into their car
Driving to Jacksons on George our next stop, the sun came out and we stopped two more places in the Botanical Gardens. Jacksons on George was the place were Vanessa & Matt first met so it was great to get some shots of them there. We also stopped of at the Rocks, Argyle Steps (on lucky tourist got a selfi with the newly wed see image on the blog) and Observatory Hill our last stop before heading to L’Aqua and reception.
The reception was held in the golden room, just a gorgeous setting with a great view over Darling Harbour. Vanessa & Matt had a fantastic evening and being a Saturday the got he fire works as a bonus entertainment for the guest.
Congratulation to Vanessa & Matt and thank you letting me be a part of your special day.
