01 Oct Melinda & Alex | Blue Mountains Wedding
One of the great tings about being a wedding photographer are all the different places you get to visit. Melinda and Alex’s took me to an amazing place called Flat Rock or Table Rock. The views were jaw dropping and the light was fantastic. Here is a bit about Melinda and Alex’s wedding story.
Melinda and Alex both got ready at The Carrington Hotel in Katoomba – Blue Mountains – with its amazing Victorian and Art Nouveau decoration.
Melinda has an fantastic eye for details – have a look at the Alex and the groomsmen corsages, cufflinks and even the socks – all beautifully color coordinated.
Alex and the groomsmen were nearly ready when I arrived. We had a little issue with a tie as we had one very tall groomsman and one very short tie, but all sorted in the end.
Arriving at the girls they all were standing by the mirror and touching up their make up – a very cute picture.
The rooms at the Carrington Hotel are just beautiful for photos lost of great places and light to work with. There were also two gorgeous flower girls keeping us entertained.
The ceremony was held on the Cherry Terrace at Everglades Garden in Leura. The Japanese Trees were in full blossom – it was a stunning wedding aisle for the Bride and the bridesmaids to walk up.
As part of the wedding ceremony Melinda and Alex took part in a Russian wedding tradition – “Bread and Salt” – who could take the biggies bite from a bread? The winner would be the head of the family. I think they came out equal, and of course they had a shot of vodka to was it down with.
While the guest had drinks at the Cherry Terrace we wondered of with the bridal party for some wedding location photos around Everglades. There is a place called the Garden Theatre a massive wall with a classical arch with its pool at its base, just beautiful. There are also great view – but some of the most spectacular view in the Blue Mountains must be from our next stop Flat rock. It was my first time at Flat Rock / Table Rock / Wedding Rock – what a stunning place. We were there just before sunset and the light was great. A wedding photographers dream.
The reception was held at The Carrington Hotel in the Grand Dining Room.
Congratulation Melinda & Alex. Thank you for choosing me as your wedding photographer.
